Grzegorz Turnau

Kraków composer, poet, pianist, winner of the Kraków Student Song Festival in 1984. Thanks to the invitation of Piotr Skrzynecki, he had the chance to develop his extraordinary talent in Piwnica Pod Baranami – Kraków’s famous cabaret.

He created his own unique musical style, but he also performs the works of other well-known artists. Among his best-known songs are: "Naprawdę nie dzieje się nic", "Cichosza", "Bracka ", "Między ciszą a ciszą", "Bombonierka" (a duet with Barbara Stępniak-Wilk). He composed the musical score for the film "Zakochany Anioł".

He collaborated with such artists as: Andrzej  Sikorowski, Anna Maria Jopek, Wojciech Malajkat, Zbigniew Zamachowski, Zbigniew Preisner, Jacek Wójcicki, Beata Rybotycka and Stanislaw Sojka. In his works he also alluded  to the well-known songs by the cabaret – Kabaret Starszych Panów, or Marek Grechuta – the Polish bard, famous for his melodious  poetic songs.
